Well… This Wasn’t Exactly the Plot Twist We Ordered
Ron’s Stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma diagnosis, the unexpected spiritual practicum of marriage, and how we’re learning to walk through uncertainty without abandoning ourselves.
Well… after 13 years together, Ron and I apparently decided “in sickness and in health” needed to become a more advanced spiritual practice than we originally planned.
Recently, Ron was diagnosed with Stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma.
And just to be clear — this is not the thing that gets frozen off at the dermatologist. This has been a very real, very life-altering experience for us emotionally, physically, and financially.
The good news is: Ron is still very much Ron.
Still stubborn.
Still funny.
Still trying to take care of everyone else while I remind him he’s the one who gets to receive right now.
We’re pursuing an integrative healing path — medical care, nutrition, supplements, nervous system support, and actually listening to what the body is asking for instead of overriding it.
Some days are hopeful.
Some days are hard.
Most days are both.
To everyone who has already shown up — with prayers, donations, messages, energy, kindness — we feel it. More than we can say.
And if you have a direct line to the timeline where Ron is healthy, thriving, and making sarcastic comments well into old age… we’re accepting those prayers too.
We’ve set up a GoFundMe to support him with an easy share link RonTheAmazing.Com
